Leucoceptrum canum

In late winter when  not many  trees and shrubs are in flower, Leucoceptrum canum blooms with its white bottle-brush  flowers. The tree is not very large. Its leaves have a white colour on the underside. as the flowers mature, a dark brown  nectar is secreted attracting a lot of birds, butterflies and insects. This is a common tree by roadsides and village homes and the local  Nepali name is ghurpis
