Changu  Lake, North Sikkim, May 2001 

Gangtok, the capital city of the State of Sikkim, is 3 hours drive from Kalimpong  and situated at an elevation of 6000ft above mean sea level. A forty minute drive by jeep from Gangtok takes you through a fascinating mountain journey to 12000ft elevation. As you round a bend on the mountain road, the awesome view of Changu Lake overpowers your senses. One can only gaze and take photographs. The lake is considered holy and relatively unspoilt.
