Chlorophytum nepalense A cool growth deciduous plant with swollen roots remaining dormant underground in winter. In spring the leaves start to grow. These are produced in a rosette of about 6 to 7 leaves and are about 12 inches long. The tall flower scape bears numerous star shaped white flowers in summer. Flowering is extended over a period of a month and more with flowers opening successively. Excellent for growing on beds in regions of mild climate. Also adapts to pot culture. Habitat: Distributed in the Eastern Himalayas and found growing in bright situations on ledges and rocky outcrops. Ethnobotany: Not known.
