Begonia xanthina
A rhizomatic Begonia coming from the cooler mountain regions. Leaves fall off in winter and the rhizomes remain in a dormant stage till late spring when the new leaves start emerging. Throughout the growth period the leaves present different colour stages. Flowers on scapes well over the foliage with small but bright yellow coloured flowers. Grows well in a rich humus based compost.
Habitat: Distributed over the eastern Himalayas. | ||
