Lilium
wallichianum
From
the Himalayan region, this species comes from warmer valleys and grows
among tall growing thatch grass and lightly shaded woodlands. It has thin,
wiry stems which has the strength to hold up such large white trumpet
shaped flowers. The stems grow up to 5ft tall and has thin, slender
leaves. This is also a stoloniferous type of lily. Blooms in mid summer during the monsoon rains. Distributed from Northwest India through Nepal and Darjeeling and Sikkim Himalayas and further east through Bhutan and Northeast India |
